French Empire mantel clock, patinated bronze urn-form case mounted with gilt-bronze pineapple finials, a white enamel circular clock dial framed in gilt bronze, raised on a gilt-bronze square plinth with bun feet, surmounted by a gilt-bronze armillary sphere. Works marked “199 6”. 17 in. H x 5 3/4 in. W. 1st Qtr. 19th century.
PROVENANCE: The estate of Dr. Michael Spalding, Nashville, TN.
CONDITION: The armillary sphere does not rest flush to the clock and is slightly loose. Minor chipping to the clock face openings for the winding key. The winding key is present.
