Large Japanese Meiji bronze-covered incense burner or Koro, the lid with finial and pierced rim, the upper body with raised figural dragon decoration, the lower body with cartouche decoration with raised bird on flowering branch decoration, raised on curve legs with taotie mask knees and paw feet. 37 1/2" H x 23" W. Late 19th century.
PROVENANCE: Deaccessioned by the Arkansas Museum of Fine Arts Foundation to benefit the acquisitions fund.
CONDITION: Repaired and restored breaks to one handle, damage to tip of lid finial, some bending to rim of lid. Scattered minor wear to body.
