Four (4) European decorative items. 1st item: English George IV sterling silver mounted magnifying glass with repousse foliate design and shield inscribed "Mary Collins/The Zoo/Clifton". Hallmarked for London, sterling, and 1829, maker's marks BT. 15" L. 2nd-3rd items: Two (2) French Rococo-style giltwood items, including one (1) plateau with scrolling and diapered design, partially legible pencil inscription "Jean…" to underside; and one (1) medallion form drapery tieback with vase containing bouquet and foliate surround. Plateau: 2 3/8" H x 9 5/8" W x 8 1/8" D. Tieback: 5 5/8" dia. x 1 3/4" D. 4th item: Terracotta sculpture fragment depicting a hand grasping a wreath having a green glaze. 10 1/2" H x 8" W x 3" D. Plateau probably 20th century, other items 19th century.
PROVENANCE: Private West Tennessee Collection.
CONDITION: 1st item: Sterling bands along handle slightly loose commensurate with age. Minor hairline to handle measuring 1 3/4" L. 2nd-3rd items: Scattered splits to wood and wear to gilt commensurate with age. Plateau with scattered losses to gesso, largest measuring 1 1/4" x 1/4". 4th item: Scattered losses to glaze throughout and scattered losses including the wrist of the hand.
