Forty-eight (48) copper plate engravings with hand coloring titled "Costume Parisien" from Journal des Dames et des Modes magazine, published in Paris, circa 1797-1839. Each depicts female subjects dressed in early 19th-century fashion or diagrams of bonnets with French captions, lower center below image. Title, top center above image; plate number, top right. Eight (8) engravings with "An 12", thirteen (13) with "An 13"; and six (6) with "An 14" top left above image for the corresponding years of production; remainder with year, top left above image. Each is hinged mounted to a manilla mat folder with typed label. Plates approximately 7 1/4" H x 4 1/4" W. Sheets approximately 4 3/4" H x 7 3/4" W. Mat folders: 11" H x 8 1/2" W.
CONDITION: Overall good condition with scattered toning, foxing spots, creases, faint errant ink transfers.
