1st item: Chinese mottled celadon hardstone bi disc with alternating carved decoration to the border of Chinese characters and horses, surrounding a diaper patterned center. 9 1/4" dia. Late 19th/Early 20th century. 2nd item: Large Japanese Imari polychrome decorated porcelain charger, in the full Imari pallette, with central flowering branch, bird and butterfly decoration bordered by foliate and figural vignette decoration, with gilt highlights throughout. Blue bird atop scrolled decoration to the rim underside together with blue maker's mark. 18 1/2" dia. Late 19th/Early 20th century. 3rd item: Chinese Famille Rose lozenge shaped dish depicting a bearded man, possibly an immortal, with a pink lotus blossom and black Chinese characters to center, surrounded by a border of foliate and peach decorations, with bats to underside of rim. Red Chinese character seal with traces of a red wax seal to underside of base. 2 3/8" H x 9 3/8" W. 4th-5th items: Two (2) Japanese near matching hexagonal form vases depicting an exterior garden scene of flowering branches and a pond with turtles and birds, with foliate bands to neck and above the base. Blue Japanese character marks to underside of bases. 6" H x 4" W. All items late 19th/early 20th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of David B. Person, Holly Springs, Mississippi.
CONDITION: 1st item: Overall good condition with scattered surface scratches and some minute losses to edge. 2nd item: Overall very good condition with minor scattered surface wear. 3rd-5th items: All items in overall good condition with scattered minor losses to enamel and gilt. 3rd item: Fleabites and chips, largest 1/4", to rim. 4th-5th items: One vase with hairlines, largest 6 1/4", to surface, crazing to underside of base. Both with areas of old sticker residue.
