Bertha Halozan (Austrian/New York, 1917-2004) folk art mixed media on canvasboard painting depicting the Statue of Liberty surrounded by the Goodyear blimp, a ship, people, and birds with red and white lettering against a naturalistic background. Signed and dated "7 1991 Bertha A Halozan" lower right. Photocopies of articles about Halozan with photographs of her artwork, a business card, and a photocopy of a Certificate of Achievement presented to Halozan by the City of New York Parks and Recreation, dated August 1, 1989, taped en verso. Housed in a black painted plastic frame. Sight: 17 3/4" H x 13 5/8" W. Framed: 18 1/2" H x 14 1/2" W.
PROVENANCE: Estate of Carl Klein, Brentwood, TN.
CONDITION: Overall good condition with two partial punctures from framing nails, approximately 1/4", top left and right edges of board. Frame with minor abrasions.
