Large bronze Art Deco sculpture depicting a female dancer attired in beaded costume with her hands raised above her head, after the original sculpture titled "Dourga" by Demetre Chiparus (Romainia/France, 1886-1947). Signed "DHChiparus" on the base. Mounted onto an angled Art Deco style black marble base. 25 5/8" H x 8 1/4" W x 4 5/8" D.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Edward Laudermilk, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Sculpture in overall good condition with a couple of dings to the dancer's exposed back. Sculpture is also loose on the base. Marble base with some scattered fleabites and losses to one corner.
