Lot 1078: American Federal Fireplace Wire Fender & Andirons

Federal brass and iron fireplace fender with brass top rail and finials above a decorative wirework frame, together with a pair of Federal wrought iron andirons with brass finials and plinths. Fender: 15 1/4 in. H x 35 1/4 in. W. Andirons: 21 1/2 in. H x 9 3/8 in. W. Both items likely American, early 19th century.

PROVENANCE:

The estate of Dr. W. Harwell Murrey, Middle TN.

CONDITION:

The fender has one area of bending in the front lower section, and exhibits overall general wear. Andirons in overall good condition.
