Twelve (12) porcelain items, most Chinese, plus two (2) hardwood stands, fourteen (14) items total. 1st item: Chinese export polychrome enamel porcelain tea bowl with ship decoration and rosette interior border, possible character mark to interior. 2nd item: tea bowl with phoenix and floral decoration to body, character mark to underside. 3rd item: Blue and white bowl with foliate decorations and rings to tall foot, signed underside. 4th item: bowl with polychrome floral sprig decorations and blue geometric rim. 5th item: blue and white cup with willow type landscape scene to body, geometric decoration to inner rim, and gilt rim. 6th item: cup with polychrome floral decoration to body and scrolling to inner rim. 7th & 8th items: Two (2) blue and white wine or sake cups with foliate decorations to body, geometric designs to inner rim, and landscape scenes to the inside. 9th item: one (1) blue and white octagonal dish with landscape scene having a geometric and foliate border, character marks to underside. 10th item: one (1) polychrome saucer with floral spray. 11th through 14th items: Two (2) blue and white Japanese cups, one (1) with partially legible paper label "[B]ue and White Imari" with two (2) pierced hardwood stands. Ranging in size from 1 1/2" H x 2 3/4" dia. to 2 7/8" H x 5 1/2" dia. Items range from late 18th to early 20th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Edith (Edie) M. Bass, Nashville, Tennessee. Most of the items from her estate in this auction were by descent from her parents, Walter Paul McBride and Claire Childs of Lake Forest, Illinois.
CONDITION: 1st-6th items: All in overall good condition with scattered minor surface abrasions and hairlines, largest measuring 2 3/8" L. 7th-8th items: Overall good condition with minor losses to rims. 9th-10th items: Overall good condition. 11th-14th items: Vases in overall good condition with scattered surface abrasions; one vase with previous repair and hairline. Stands with surface scratches; one with previously reattached foot and loss to additional foot.
