1st Item: Japanese Imari charger with scalloped rim, decorated in underglaze blues, with gilt and green, red and teal enamels; the center with a tree growing behind a fenced wall; three cartouches of flowered vines surround the center. Unmarked. 17 1/2″ D; 19th Century. 2nd Item: Large Japanese Imari charger decorated in iron-red, greens, blues and gilding; depicting 3 women against a landscape of low hills with flowers, a bridge over water and a mountain in the background. Reverse decorated in underglaze blue designs with iron-red enamels. Unmarked, 21 1/2″ D; 19th Century.
PROVENANCE: Estate of Judge John Nixon, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Both in very good condition.
