Five (5) tortoiseshell boxes, including one (1) footed trinket box with chromolithograph of steamship to applied cartouche, push latch, and paper-lined interior; one (1) snuff box with metal cartouche, push latch, and embossed paper-lined interior; and three (3) footed snuff boxes with metal cartouche to lid, push latch, and embossed or patterned paper-lined interior. Ranging in size from 1" H x 2 1/4" W x 1 3/8" D to 1 5/8" H x 4" W x 3" D. Late 19th/early 20th century.
PROVENANCE: The Tina McWhorter Trust; from the collection of John and Tina McWhorter, Memphis, Tennessee.
CONDITION: All items with minor scattered age splits, surface wear, and separation of lining commensurate with age. One footed snuff box with detached lid. Snuff box without feet having two small tears to lining.
