Large Blount County, TN salt-glazed stoneware pottery jar stamped MARYVILLE POTTERY (1885 – 1890) and 4 denoting capacity. Tall ovoid form, beveled base edge. 16 in. H.
PROVENANCE: The collection of Marty and David Black, Rockford, TN.
CONDITION: Handles missing with the possibility of loss in the firing process. Large stabilized cracks extended from the rim through the body. Form stabilized by metal band to the mid-section and wire band around the rim.
