Group of twelve (12) Tennessee hand-made bricks attributed to James Barry Keller (1838-1909), son of John B. Keller Jr. (1810-1883) of the Keller family of brick makers in Toone, Hardeman County, West Tennessee (there were also Kellers in Hardeman County listed as potters – ref. Samuel D. Smith and Stephen T. Rogers, “A Survey of Historic Pottery Making in Tennessee”). These bricks feature a variety of designs such as anchors, moons, diamonds, hearts and stars, created through the use of folk art molds; one bears the initials JBK and another is plain with no letters or pictures. The bricks were salvaged from a 19th century West Tennessee house. Photos and a description of the salvage process, along with genealogical information on the Keller family, and past sales receipt are available to the winning bidder. All approx. 8 in. x 2 1/2 in. x 4 in.
