Gunnar Borjeson (Sweden, 1877-1945) oil on canvas landscape painting depicting a small canoe moored on the bank of a lake reflecting and surrounded by a dense forest rendered in warm yellows, peaches, and greens with a sliver of blue sky at the top border. Signed lower right GB. Housed in a modern giltwood frame. Sight: 19 3/4" H x 23 1/2" W. Frame: 24 1/8" H x 28 1/8" W.
PROVENANCE: The estate of Dr. Thomas Bechtel, Memphis, TN.
CONDITION: Overall good condition with wear to paint at top border of canvas and minute puncture to canvas at sky. Canvas is loose in frame. Frame having surface grime, discoloration, and wear to gilt.
