Anglo-Indian school, 19th century miniature oval watercolor portrait of a Mughal woman, attired in a pink dress with mustard-colored headscarf, and green wrap, depicted seated against a red draped backdrop. Housed in a tooled leather case under glass. Unsigned. 3 5/8″ H x 2 3/4″ W.
PROVENANCE: Deaccessioned by the Hunter Museum of American Art.
CONDITION: Shrinkage to substrate noted proper right chest area, rubbing to lower right arm. Glass cover is not attached to a backing and is removable.
