Item 1: Painting of a balded, bearded man shown in profile as he smiles and looks upward while sitting barefooted on a large rock. Item 2: Painting of a standing man in an ornate robe and shoes and shown in profile. He raises a vessel in both hands as a bird flies toward him at right. Item 3: Painting of an elderly, balding man in an ornate robe and shoes and shown frontally. He looks to the viewer's right and holds a string of prayer beads. Each mounted to paper backing with decorative border surrounding image. Housed in a purple faux snakeskin portfolio. Each silk sheet approx: 11 1/2" H x 9 5/8" W. Each mount: 15 1/4" H x 11 3/4" W. Portfolio: 22" H x 17 1/2" W. 19th century.
CONDITION: 1st and second items in overall good condition, with minor losses to silk and scattered accretions and staining primarily outside of figures. 3rd item with scattered losses to silk, largest area to lower right of robe, 3/8" x 1/4," and area of staining resembling a brush stroke, 10 3/4" x 1 1/2", to left of figure and in lower left of robe. Plus scattered accretions and staining outside of figure. Portfolio with losses and abrasions.
