Frances E. Browne (Ohio, active early to mid 20th century), "High Horizon," oil on board landscape depicting a view of a Western valley, titled en verso along with inscription, "the Oaks Creek area – Ariz." with artist's address in Prescott, Arizona. Signed "Frances Browne" lower left. Wide wood frame with light stain. Sight: 11 1/2" H x 15 1/2" W. Frame: 16 1/2" H x 20 1/2" W. Note: Frances E. Browne is listed in Askart and Davenport's as a Cincinnati artist who served as the first President of the Mountain Artists Guild in Prescott from 1949-195 and was elected President again from 1955-1957 and 1965-1966.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Carl Klein, Brentwood, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Some light grime, a few abrasions along left edge at frame line, light wear to frame, overall very good condition.
