Item 1: Kasamatsu Shiro (Japan, 1898-1991) color woodblock print on heavy paper entitled “Pagoda in Evening Rain” and depicting a tall pagoda during a rain shower at dusk. A woman or bijin walks through the foreground and holds an umbrella. Published by Shozaburo Watanabe with 6mm seal used from 1946 to 1957 lower left. Unframed. Sheet: 15 1/4″ H x 10 1/4″ W. Item 2: Kawase Hasui (Japanese, 1883-1957) color woodblock print on thin paper entitled “Zentsuji Temple in Rain” and depicting the temple’s entrance with a tall pagoda partially obscured by soft rain visible in the distance. A later impression. Unframed. Sheet: 15 1/2″ H x 10 7/16″ W.
CONDITION: Both items in very good overall condition. 2nd item with pinholes to left margin, upper and lower corners.
