Ron Stewart (Arizona, b. 1941) gouache and watercolor painting titled "Makin' Tracks" depicting two buckskin-clad mountain men riding galloping horses through the snow, with a third horse led by the central figure and a spray of snow erupting from the ground around their hooves. A snowy creek bank runs behind them, and in the distance are a coniferous forest and rocky mountain range. Signed in lower right with copyright. Title inscribed in pen on backing board. Housed under glass in a stained wood frame with cream mat and gray reveal. Sight: 6 3/4" H x 10 3/4" W. Frame: 12 13/16" H x 16 13/16" W.
PROVENANCE: The Tina McWhorter Trust; from the collection of John and Tina McWhorter, Memphis, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Condition is overall excellent. Some debris is trapped between mat and glass, and glass is loose but stable in upper right. Not examined out of frame.
