Shep Chadhorn (American/Colorado, 20th Century) oil on board western painting titled "Search For Shelter" depicting two Native Americans on horseback looking out over a desert landscape at nightfall to a lit cabin, with smoke rising from the chimney. Signed "S. Chadhorn" lower right. Titled en verso. Housed in a carved giltwood Rococo style frame with an off-white linen mat. Sight: 11 1/2" H x 15 1/2" W. Framed: 20 1/2" H x 24 1/2" W.
PROVENANCE: The Tina McWhorter Trust; from the collection of John and Tina McWhorter, Memphis, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Scattered inpainting in the sky area, scratch to right side approximately 4" L, behind figures on horseback, one small scratch above cabin, approximately 1" L.
