Beveridge Moore (American, 1915 – 2004) oil on canvas modernist painting titled “Panoramic Figures,” depicting a sleeping nude male and female resting on a green field. Signed lower left and housed in a simple black painted wood frame. Sight: 35 in x 48 in, Framed: 36 in. H x 48 3/4 in. W. Circa 1962. Biography: “Nationally known painter Beveridge Moore created highly expressive mood pieces. He was often described as a painter of allegorical imagery. Man and nature are the keynotes of his subtle, subdued oils. His paintings superimpose the human figure on landscapes, leaves and flora, and cityscapes, as well as on symbolic elements that are often hidden within the paintings. His work has been the subject of five solo shows at the Bodley Gallery in New York, and is represented in many collections, including those of the Virginia Museum of Fine Arts, the Phoenix Art Museum, the New Jersey State Museum, the James A. Michener Art Museum, and Rutgers University.” (Source: Bucks County Artists Database).
