Early walnut Knox County, TN tilt-top candlestand, rectangular top with rounded corners, ring turned standard on tripodal feet. Featured and documented in the book "The Art & Furniture of East Tennessee" by Namuni Hale Young (page 45).According to the book, this table was made for Frederick Steidinger Heiskell (1776-1882) who settled in Knoxville in 1814. He founded the Knoxville Register on August 3, 1816 and was mayor of Knoxville in 1835. Condition – Old refinish,overall very good condition. 27" H x 19 1/2" W x 16" D. Circa 1815-1840. Provenance: Robin Hale Estate, Knoxville, TN.
