Pair (2) of English needlework and watercolor on silk portraits depicting young women seated at the bases of trees, including one (1) portraying a barefoot woman a in a red and white shawl crafting a flower wreath from the surrounding foliage with a body of water and rolling hills to the left and one (1) depicting a sleeping woman resting her head upon one hand and holding a small dog by a leash in the other with trees and a tall mountain to the right in the background. Both items with hand-painted faces, hands, and backgrounds. Paper tags affixed to both hanging wires. Both housed in an oval eglomise glass matte with rosettes at each corner and giltwood frame. Sights: 11 1/2" H x 9 1/2" W. Framed: 18" H x 16" W. Early 19th century.
CONDITION: Both items in overall good condition with slight discoloration of silk. Frames with scattered surface wear.
