Lot 1023: Paul Harmon diptych, Madame Bovary

Paul Harmon (Tennessee, b. 1939), “Madame Bovary I and III”, 1991, two oil on panel paintings featuring nearly identical portraits of the same woman, rendered in different combinations of red, blue, purple, gray and black. Signed and dated lower left; additionally signed, titled, dated and numbered en verso. Each panel is 24 in. H x 16 in. W, unframed. 

PROVENANCE: The collection of Michael and Margaret Zibart, Nashville, TN.

CONDITION: Overall good condition. Each panel with a few scratches and minor losses, mostly around edges.
