Lucille Davis Grimm (American/Tennessee, 1929-2002), “Black Bar I and II,” watercolor on paper, diptych comprising two abstract works featuring swirled colors organized into varying bar forms. One is signed “Lucille Davis Grimm” lower right in pencil and dated 1980. Contemporary squared chrome-finish frames. Collector’s Gallery, Nashville, labels en verso. Sight: 29 in. H x 21 in. W. Frames: 31 1/4 in. H x 23 1/4 in. W. Note: Lucille Grimm was a graduate of George Peabody College of Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN. She exhibited her works in joint and solo exhibitions, and juried shows for 50 years, working the latter part of her life in Connecticut. She was the recipient of numerous awards and was accepted into the Watercolor USA Honor Society and the New England Watercolor Society.
PROVENANCE: A Nashville, Tennessee estate.
CONDITION: The signed work has some small splatters, possibly in the making. Otherwise good condition.
