An American cast iron garden bench, with serpentine foliate cast top rail over an interlocking pierced back, curving pierced arms, foliate pierced seat and foliate skirt over cabriole legs. 36" H x 45 1/4" W x 18" D. Mid 19th century. Note: This bench was originally designed in Scotland by Carron Company in 1846. PROVENANCE: Private Cincinnati, Ohio estate.
CONDITION: Overall good condition. Oxidation and losses to paint throughout, especially to the seat. Losses to lower right back seat corner brace. Crest has been reinforced on the backside with an iron strip.
