Federal giltwood mirror, rectangular, top molding with drop beads over a reverse painted glass (eglomise) upper panel decorated with classical figures lounging next to American eagle above the union shield. The piece retains original silvered mirror surrounded. 22 1/2"H x 14 1/2"W. Provenance: Estate of A. Welling LaGrone Jr., Nashville, Tenn., ex-Dr. Benjamin H. Caldwell collection. Condition: Scattered losses to original gilding, overall good condition with original tablet.
