Six (6) miniature brass or bronze cannons with wooden, cast iron, or brass bases, including one (1) bronze cannon on a wooden carriage with two bronze wheels, one (1) bronze cannon with an embossed eagle grasping a snake on a wooden carriage, one (1) bronze cannon one a wooden carriage with four iron wheels, one (1) bronze cannon affixed via hinge to a bronze base, one (1) brass cannon on a cast-iron carriage marked MADE IN ITALY to underside, and one (1) brass cannon on a cast-iron carriage. Ranging in size from 2 3/4" H x 4 7/8" W x 3 1/2" D to 5 1/8" H x 13" W x 7 3/4" D. European, 20th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of David B. Person, Holly Springs, Mississippi.
CONDITION: All pieces with scattered surface pitting, denting, and oxidation to cannons. Some splitting to wood and losses to veneer as well as oxidation to iron in the carriages. Seizing of hinge on cannon with bronze base.
