Grouping of English serving porcelain with burgundy ground, including four (4) compotes, all with hand-painted floral and burgundy ribbon decoration, scalloped rims, and raised scalloped bases, including two (2) ovoid forms with double scrolling handles and two (2) circular form with single scrolling handles; and twelve (12) Cauldon China dinner plates with scalloped rims having a gadrooned edge around a burgundy border decorated with gilt highlights, each center depicting a hand-painted floral bouquet, with maker's mark and "J.E. Caldwell Co, Philadelphia" retailer mark to underside. Compotes: 2 1/4" H x 12" W x 9 1/4" D and 2 1/4" H x 9 3/4" W x 9" D. Plates ranging from 9 3/4" W x 9" D to 12" W x 9" D. All items English, ranging from the mid-19th to early-20th Century.
PROVENANCE: The estate of Pia Stratton, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: Compotes all with scattered wear to gilt highlights and painted decoration, one small compote with chip to rim, one large compote with small hairline to rim. All plates in very good condition with minute surface wear.
