Two (2) Don West First Edition books. 1st item: Author signed and inscribed, CRAB GRASS, First Edition, by Don West, illustrated by Julius Lee Rayford, published by The Art Print Shop, Nashville, 1931. 16mo, 50 pages with woodblock frontispiece and title page vignette, hardbound in navy blue cloth with gilt stamping and lettering to front cover. Signed and inscribed "To–/Genevieve Marron/Sincerely/Don L. West" to front end paper. 7 1/4" H x 4 3/4" W x 1/2" D. 2nd item: CLODS OF THE SOUTHERN EARTH, First Edition, by Don West, drawings by Harold Price, published by Boni and Gaer, New York, 1946. Hardcover octavo, 148 pages with index, hardbound in green cloth with gilt lettering to front cover and spine, includes original dust jacket wrapped in mylar. 9 3/8" H x 6 1/2" W x 3/4" D.

CONDITION: Both items in overall good condition. 1st item: Covers with surface grime, spotting, general shelf wear, corners bumped. Inscription in overall good, legible condition, front matter page is stuck to back of inscription page, both pages and back matter pages are becoming separated from binding (does not effect inscription). Majority of pages in overall good condition with light toning, scattered minute foxing spots, minor tears from stapeled binding, general handling wear. 2nd item: Dust jacket with toning/acid burn, creases, tears, largest 1", areas of loss, largest 13" x 1", and general handling wear (price is intact). Covers with scattered rubbing/loss, slight fading, general shelf wear, corners bumped. Scattered minute foxing spots, toning/acid burn to pastedowns and front and back matter pages. Pages with light toning, waviness, pencil/ink inscriptions from previous owners.
