1st item: Georgian mahogany and mahogany veneer inlaid washstand, split hinged top that opens to a fitted interior above two doors and two string inlaid and dovetailed drawers, shaped side skirt, and straight square legs. Drawers with oval brass pulls and sides with brass carrying handles. 33 3/4" H x 20" W x 18 5/8" D. 2nd item: Georgian mahogany and mahogany veneer inlaid pot cupboard, the hinged top having a shaped gallery that opens to reveal storage for a chamber pot, above a tambour door and two string inlaid and dovetailed drawers with hen and chick embossed brass pulls, above a shaped skirt and straight feet. 34" H x 21 3/4" W x 17 3/4" D. Both pieces early 19th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Margaret Harold Roberts, Lookout Mountain, Georgia.
