Edwardian painted satinwood cabinet, serpentine banded veneered top painted with pink flower and leaf vine borders intertwined with a spiraling ribbon, over a conforming frieze with elaborate painted floral garlands and two doors, decorated with oval painted scenic panels, the left panel depicting two women with their needlework on the porch of a house, while a horse and gentleman stand nearby, the right panel depicting a gentleman and woman holding fowl on a table, hay wagon and village in the background; panels are surrounded by banded veneer and box string inlay borders. Paint decorated canted stiles with sides having two green branches tied together with a ribbon bow near base in an antler-style wreath configuration. Case rests on shaped bracket feet with painted foliate decoration; paneled back; top fitted with custom glass. 37 7/8"H x 44 3/4"W x 21 1/8"D. Late 19th century, English or possibly Continental. Condition: Overall very good condition; interior has been modified by the addition of a drawer, small veneer chip to banded veneer on back edge of top.
