One (1) Coin Silver cup and one (1) Sterling cup. 1st item: George Sharp for Bailey & Co. sterling silver footed cup with repousse Chinoiserie decoration including pagodas and palm trees. Central cartouche with monogram TO OLIVE. Marked to underside with Bailey & Co. (Philadelphia) mark and pseudo hallmarks used by George Sharp to denote sterling. 4 1/4" H. Philadelphia, circa 1855. 2nd item: Mexican War Era Coin Silver presentation cup inscribed SGT. W. (?) H. SAULS / CITY LIGHT GUARD / AS THE BEST SHOT / AUG. 5 1848. No maker's mark. 3 1/2" H. Combined weight: 7.21 total troy ounces.
PROVENANCE: Private Nashville, Tennessee collection.
CONDITION: 1st item: Dent causing small separation at lip. A few other minor dents, particularly to foot ring. 2nd item: Cup in very good condition, wear to inscription.
