Grouping of nine (9) Chinese export Armorial porcelain plates all with polychrome and gilt decoration including: two (2) with the Federal Eagle to the center with a banner reading E PLURIBUS UNUM and a gilt rope border; one (1) with the Federal Eagle to the center with a banner reading E PLURIBUS UNUM and a floral swag or wave border; two (2) with possible French or Italian armorial to the center with banner reading SOLA VIRIE LAVRTE together with purple feathered swag borders and pink floral sprigs; two (2) plates with gilt and sepia masted ships bearing an American flag to the center with gilt and enameled wave borders; and two plates with gilt and sepia masted ships bearing an American flag to the center with numerous figures and rope with green enamel dot borders. All measure 9" dia. Late 18th to early 19th century.
PROVENANCE: Estate of Judge John Nixon, Nashville, Tennessee.
CONDITION: All plates in overall good condition. A few plates with light wear and minor losses to decoration.
