Two (2) Asian bronze censers, including one (1) archaic form with pierced lid having large foo dog finial, rectangular body with incised stylized animal and foliate motifs on diapered ground, twin stirrup-shaped handles, protruding accents to corners, and four geometrically incised legs; and one (1) Japanese patinated footed circular form with two panoramic vignettes of figural landscapes upon diapered ground with two character seal forms to one side below vignette. Ranging in size from 8 1/8" H x approx. 10" dia. to 17" H x 10 3/4" W x 8 3/8" D. Both items late 19th/early 20th century.
PROVENANCE: The Estate of Margaret Harold Roberts, Lookout Mountain, Georgia.
CONDITION: 1st item: Overall good condition with minor surface wear. Minor scattered areas of calcium deposit. Minute loss to one foot and one corner of lid, largest measuring 1/4" x 1/8". 2nd item: Previous repair to section of one side of lower body, measuring approximately 5 3/4" x 2 3/4".
