Chinese Export 3-piece sterling silver tea set, attributed to Cumshing (Canton). Teapot, creamer, and sugar bowl, each with alternating repousse vignette decoration of figures engaged in various activities and flowering trees, on a diapered ground. All pieces with bamboo handles, and the teapot with a bamboo spout. All with maker’s mark CS and chopmarks on the base. Ranging in size from 3 1/4 in. H x 5 1/4 in.W to 5 1/2 in. H x 8 3/4 in. W. 19th century. 30.23 total troy ounces.
PROVENANCE:
Private Knoxville collection, acquired by consignor’s father in Asia while serving in the Korean War.
CONDITION:
The lid of the teapot does not sit flush; otherwise, all pieces are in overall very good condition, no monograms.
