Important Meissen female nude porcelain by Walter Schott, marked on the base with blue cross swords and incised in the base a cursive “F 68”. Additional number marking with only a “2” legible. This Meissen work, titled ” Nude Flora ” was modeled in 1897 and is pictured in Laurence Mitchell’s Meissen Collector’s Catalogue, p. 219, plate 79. The Nude Flora model Consists of a female nude surrounded by a rocky outcrop of floral roses. Meissen bought this model and another titled “The Bowling Lady” near the turn of the 20th century. The Nude Flora model is considerably more rare than the more common Bowling Lady model. Condition – overall excellent, one flake to base rim, a couple of glaze imperfections to florals on reverse. 15 5/8″ height. Circa 1902-05. Germany.
