Bidding at Auction
All bidding requires reading and agreement to our auction Terms and Conditions located on our Bidding Details Page. We update the Terms and Conditions for each auction. You may participate in our auctions by in-person, absentee, phone and online/Internet bidding.
IN-PERSON (FLOOR BIDS):
Attend the auction at our Knoxville Gallery as the auction is taking place. You may register to bid in person when you arrive on auction day, or receive a bid number in advance during the auction preview. We will verify your registration via a valid photo ID (Driver’s License or Military ID) and a credit card. If you are not a previous or known customer to us and wish to pay with a check, we may require a letter from your bank guaranteeing available funds prior to registration. If you have any questions about registration or payment, refer to our Bidding Details Page or call us at 865-558-3033 or email us at bid@caseantiques.com.
ABSENTEE (WRITTEN) BIDS:
To submit an absentee bid, please visit our Bidding Details Page.
PHONE BIDS:
Request a phone bid on a specific lot(s), and during the auction, one of our auction house representatives will call you a few minutes before that lot opens for bidding. You may then instruct that representative to bid on your behalf as the bidding progresses. Lots are offered in consecutive numerical order starting at #1, and we auction, on average, about 80 – 100 lots per hour. To submit phone bids, please visit our Bidding Details Page. We reserve phone lines on a first come, first served basis. The deadline for Phone Bid registration is noon Eastern time the day before the auction. This is a strict deadline because we have to arrange for personnel to cover all phone bidder lines.
We allow you to list an optional “safety bid” that our representative will execute in the event of a disconnected phone line or if other reason prevents us from having you on the phone with us live during the bidding.
ONLINE BIDS:
Place a bid electronically in advance of auction day or during the auction via Case’s direct online bidding platform. Online bidding may also be offered through third party marketplaces such as Bidsquare, LiveAuctioneers, and Invaluable. To register for online bidding, please visit our Bidding Details Page.
