18k yellow gold custom cluster diamond ring containing one round brilliant cut diamond measuring 7.3 mm and weighing approximately 1.50 ct (I1 clarity, I color) and 27 single cut and round brilliant cut diamonds and 8 baguette diamonds (VS2-I1 clarity, H-I color) with a total weight of approximately 1.20 ct. 16 grams. Ladies' Art Deco .900 platinum and diamond ring. Single .56 carat transitional old European cut/round brilliant cut diamond (VS1 clarity, J color), in a square setting surrounded by sixteen round diamonds on the sides and four marquise shape diamonds in the corners. French School, mid-19th century, pair of oil on panel paintings depicting harvesting putti. One group of cherubs is seen harvesting sheafs of wheat, the other holding large clusters of grapes. Possibly part of a Four Seasons series. One painting signed lower left, C. Brun (possibly after Charles Le Brun, 1616-1690, or Charles Guillaume Brun, 1825-1908). The other possibly signed lower right (repair makes it difficult to see). Partially legible 19th century French labels stenciled en verso. Both framed in ornate antique molded giltwood frames. 8-1/4" x 7" sight, 16" x 14" framed. Condition: Painting with wheat: 1/2" light abrasion at center cherub's lower left leg, losses to rabbet molding in lower right corner of frame. Painting with grapes: 1/4" repair lower left over possible signature. Losses to rabbet molding in corner of frame, upper right; scattered inclusions; loss to corner beading in upper right corner. Edward Clark (Tennessee, 1912-2000) black and white photograph, The Eiffel Tower, 1946, cover image for Life Magazine. Signed lower right in ink and titled 1946. 20" x 24". Biography: Born in Nashville, photographer Ed Clark began working for The Tennessean Newspaper. Life Magazine made him a stringer in 1936. His famous 1942 photo of Alvin York registering for the draft brought an official job offer, but he refused to leave Nashville as he felt it was a better place to raise his young sons. In 1945, he agreed to be temporarily assigned to the Paris offices and shot a series of photos of that city, including this image. During his career working for Life and several other magazines, he captured images of racial discrimination, Hollywood celebrities, and several presidents. Condition: Mounted to board. Light minor wear and a couple of small creases at outer edges of margins. [See more photos →]

Condition: Platter is in very good condition with some light crazing, a small (1/8" diam.) rim chip and a few small, light stains (largest 1/4" diameter). Large signed Japanese Satsuma palace vase with stand with scalloped rim, fish and ring handles with applied tassels, animal paw feet and and enameled and gilt Samuri warrior decoration. Stand also signed. Urn measures 39 1/2" H. Stand measures 8 1/2" H. Circa 1900. Condition: Tight crack to base of urn with hairline crack to same area extending up the side (about 8") with plaster residue at base. Old repaired break to one of the ring handles. Victorian silverplated soup tureen and ladle, plus 5 pieces sterling flatware. Oval tureen with figural ram's head handles and four carytid feet in the form of stag heads and hooves. First grouping: Five pieces of Chinese Export porcelain, Chien Lung period. 1st item: Bowl with iron red border and floral sprig decoration, orange peel texture glaze, marked on base with old museum accession number 58.2502. 2-1/2"H x 5-1/3" diameter. 2nd item: Famille rose tea cup with decoration depicting fishermen and boats. 1-3/4"H. 3rd and 4th item: pair of teacups, blue and white with Willow style landscape decoration, 5th item: small dish or saucer with blue and white landscape decoration and Chinese character mark to underside, 4" diameter. All Chinese, 18th century. Second grouping: Lot of thirteen (13) Chinese and Chinese-style ceramics. Lot includes six pieces of blue and white porcelain ware-1 lobed bowl, 3 regular bowls, 1 saucer and 1 miniature pot with Asian motifs, together with three porcelain saucers decorated with green and red glaze, three small celadon pots, 1 possibly Korean small blue and white craquelure pot. 3rd group: 1 Celadon porcelain figural fish with open mouth, possibly a vase, unmarked. 3-1/2"H; 1 Celadon porcelain plate, seal mark to underside, 7-1/2" diameter; 3rd item: 1 Blanc de Chine figure of Guan Yin, seated in the lotus position and holding a pearl. Unmarked. Hollow with pierced eyes, mouth and ears. 7-1/4"H; 1 Chinese porcelain fruit bowl, lozenge form with oval lobed sides on a conforming foot; overglaze polychrome enamel decorations of fruit, flowers, and other auspicious symbols in a Famille verte palette. 3"h x 10-1/2" w x 8"d. Condition: First grouping: 1st item: some rubbing to exterior border decoration (underglaze). 2nd item: scattered rim chips, a 1" hairline extending from rim. 3rd and 4th item: significant dark crazing. 5th item: 1 very small rim chip. Second grouping: One blue and white bowl has small chips on lip. Miniature blue and white pot has chips and grime to lip and base rim. Biggest chip: 1-2". One celadon pot has 1/2" chip to lip. Possible Korean pot has damage to lip. Earthenware vase with black motif has chips to lip. Third grouping: Items 1-3: Some light grime to fish, minor firing flaws and foot ring chips to plate. 4th item: Some minor wear to enameling and scratching to interior. [See more photos →]
