Alcoa Kiwanis Club’s Antiques Appraisal Fair will be held from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. March 17 at the Blount County Public Library at 508 N. Cusick Street, Maryville, TN 37804. Several appraisers will be present including John Case, the owner of Case Antiques, Inc. Mr. Case is an accredited member of the Appraisers Association of America (AAA) and has over 15 years experience researching and evaluating American antiques and art, with a specialization in early Southern decorative arts.
Verbal evaluation of a first item will be $10, and additional evaluations will be $5 each. Tickets will be available at the door and may be purchased in advance from Alcoa Kiwanis and Alcoa High School and William Blount High School Key Club members. Foothills Kiwanis Club of Townsend will serve chili lunches and drinks. Proceeds will be used to support these clubs’ charitable activities. For information, call David Duggan at 984-6551.
Due to library policy, antique guns, swords, knives and other weapons may not be brought into the library. However, pictures of antique weapons may be brought into the library for appraisal. In addition, private appointments for weapons appraisals may be scheduled by contacting Case Antiques at (info@caseantiques.com) or 558-3033.
