Barrel marked "G R Douglas 40 CAL". Barrel length: 43 13/16", Overall Length: 58". 2nd item: Contemporary .40 flintlock tiger maple rifle with brass engraved mounts and patchbox, German silver inlays of a crescent moon, stars, and birds. Barrel unmarked. Barrel Length: 43 7/8", Overall Length: 57 7/8". Both 20th century. Provenance: A.R. Dickey Estate, Knoxville, TN. Condition: 1st gun: matt oxidation on barrel, rust/oxidation on hammer and lockplate, missing brass inlay on the forestock, patchbox does not completely close. 2nd item: brown patina on barrel, oxidation/light rust around hammer, lockplate, and breech. Patchbox with latch missing.
