Chinese lacquer and gilt carved wooden temple altar or shrine in three sections, the top section of pierced tree with extended flowering tree branches, framed by stylized Greek key border; the central section of three-dimensional gilded figures in palace scene on one side and gilded flowers, vases and birds on the other, each bordered by pierced scroll frieze; the lower section with pierced gilded rim, shaped and pierced skirt and figural foo dog feet on red plinth. Two painted character marks on top section. Qing or Republic period. 14-1/2" H x 16-1/4" W x 5-1/4" D. Provenance – The Estate of Eddie Jack Miller, Johnson City, TN. Condition: 1st item: 4" split on top of 2nd section. 3-1/2" split on top of lowest section. Minor wear to gilt. 2-3/4" L vertical break to one corner of top section. Scattered losses: 3/4" L on rim of lowest section and 3" loss on red plinth. CONDITION: 1st item: 4" split on top of 2nd section. 3-1/2" split on top of lowest section.
