Alabama stoneware pottery jar having green alkaline glaze, applied strap handles to the upper neck and incised 3 just below the straight rim. 16″ H. Late 19th century. Note: Oral history states that this jar descended through the family of Archibald Hezekiah Glasscock, who enlisted as a Private in Company H, 24th Alabama Infantry Regiment, C.S.A. During the 1907-08 Confederate Veterans Census, he is listed as living in Chilton County, Alabama. CONDITION: Small chip to rim. Some minor paint transfer to body.
