Large Alabama pottery jar having lug handles, with two bands of incised lines and sine wave incising around upper shoulder. Incised with "5" denoting 5 gallon capacity. Alkaline glaze with blue rutile near one handle. Condition – Small pellet hole to mid-section below handle. Chipping to underside of handles. 17 1/2" H. 3rd Qtr. 19th century.
