Tennessee walnut sugar chest, attributed to Davidson County. Dovetailed box on a stand with drawer, resting on turned feet. Storage well with one board dividing it into two sections. Hinged top with simple, flat molding. Ivory kite shaped escutcheon. Lower section has a single, non-locking drawer. Lower drawer of cherry and with square nail construction. Original knobs to drawer, key present. Condition – old refinish, top with one old replaced board, top molding an old replacement, repair/patch to area of back near hinge, The cherry drawer with square nail construction could possibly be an early restoration from the 1840-50 period. 31" height x 19 ¾" depth x 21 1/8" width.
