Revolutionary War era hand grenade – iron hollow ball with small hole for fuse. These objects were filled with gunpowder and a fuse was lighted and thrown by hand. They were used mostly for defensive purposes. Condition – overall very good condition for age. This grenade is approximately 3" in diameter, and weighs about 2.50 lbs. The fuse hole is about 3/8" of an inch. American, 18th century.
