Extremely rare and large pair of Rookwood bird decorated vases by Arthur Conant. Marked on the base with the artist mark for Arthur Conant, the Rookwood mark, and the Roman numerals, "XVIII", denoting the year of 1918. Consisting of a blue high glaze with crackelure effect and the design of two pheasant birds with flowering plants with a darker blue base. Incised line around the shoulder, flaring rim with a lighter green glaze interior. Height 13 1/4" height. Circa 1918.
