George Gibson, Maysville, Kentucky windsor chair marked "G. Gibson" and "Maysville" on underside of seat. Comprised of mixed woods with shaped plank seat and bamboo-style legs and stretchers. Gibson was a cabinetmaker working in Maysville, Kentucky around 1816-1820 according to the book " A Checklist of Kentucky Cabinetmakers from 1775 to 1859" by Mrs. Wade Hampton Whitley (Edna Talbott Whitley). Overall very good condition with a couple of old repairs to spindles. 33-7/8" H x 17-1/2" W x 14-5/8" D. Circa 1820.
