George Gibson, Maysville, Kentucky windsor chair marked "G. Gibson" and "Maysville" on underside of seat. Comprised of mixed woods with shaped plank seat and bamboo-style legs and stretchers. Gibson was a cabinetmaker working in Maysville, Kentucky around 1816-1820 according to the book " A Checklist of Kentucky Cabinetmakers from 1775 to 1859" by Mrs. Wade Hampton Whitley (Edna Talbott Whitley). Overall very good condition with old repair to one spindle, evident on back of crest rail. 33-7/8" H x 17-1/2" W x 14-5/8" D. Circa 1820.
