Two 18th century books. 1st item: John Milton, PARADISE LOST, 2 volume set, printed in London for J. and R. Tonson et al, 1750, (a reprint of the) Second Edition with notes by Thomas Newton. Partial calf binding with marbled boards, portrait frontispiece, several engraved plates. 456 pages plus index. 2nd item: THE POETICAL WORKS OF THE HON. CHARLES SEDLEYAND HIS SPEECHES IN PARLIAMENT. Printed in London for Samuel Briscoe and sold by B. Bragg at The Raven, 1707. Full calf binding, 175 pp. Both books approx. 7-1/2" x 5". Provenance: a Middle Tennessee estate. Condition: All books appear to be rebound and are in very good condition with light minor wear; pages in good condition with toning and minor foxing.
